Welcome to our website. If you are new to Scouting, browse our pages and learn about what many consider to be the finest program for young people in the world today. Scouting provide programs that build character, foster mental and physical fitness and teach citizenship. Scouting offers a variety programs designed to meet the needs for boys from first grade through the age of 21 and young women, ages 14-21. Whether it is the adventure in the outdoors or learning about careers through hands-on experiences, Scouting is about spending quality time with peers, family, and other caring adults.
Boys in grades 1-5 can join Cub Scouting, an age-appropriate program designed to involve the whole family in fun and educational activities. Boy Scouting is for young men, 11-18 years of age. This program helps young men mature by involving them in group activities. Also, a self-paced advancement program allows them to expand their knowledge and skill in areas as varied as the environment and living outdoors, to careers and life-long hobbies.
Young people enjoy our programs because Scouting is fun. They are naturally drawn to activities such as hiking camping, fishing, racing, and swimming. They enjoy doing these things with friends while sharing these experiences with their family. Young people are naturally curious. Scouting feeds that curiosity by offering opportunities to learn, lead, and participate. Scouting develops crucial teamwork and leadership skills that are sought after by the leading employers in our area. Most business and community leaders in the Kansas City area have a Scouting background.
Scouting is an educational program that enhances citizenship, leadership and personal fitness through exciting indoor and outdoor activities. Working under the leadership of trained adult volunteers, Scouts have opportunities to build values and friendships. They will participate in a variety of experiences which building self-confidence and social skills. Studies have shown that Scouting enhances academic achievement.
Scouting offers programs for young women as well. Venturing, a high adventure program is a new, growing and dynamic program for young men and women in high school and college. Exploring is a business-based coed program that provides one-of-a-kind opportunities to learn about careers, leadership and teamwork firsthand.
